Hi!

This is the first post on this blog. And although I've been blogging for about—I don't know—15 years? This is the first time I didn't bother coding my blog from scratch.

AI as an assistant

For simple tasks like this, I let Claude Code handle the design, code, and deployment configurations. I mainly acted as a supervisor, asking them to hold the complicated parts while I sat back with a cup of coffee.

Total time spent? About 5 hours for the complete work, from initial design concepts and mockups to a fully working blog using Eleventy.

I'm pleased with the results!

A quick backtrace

I was once very wary of using AI for work. Given our current privacy concerns, I worried about how AI would utilize my data and whether relying on it would make me less diligent.

Today, I'd say that if you use AI as the primary driver of your work, yes, that's laziness. However, if you utilize it to enhance your workflow while still managing its output, you can achieve excellent results.

For example, if you're stuck on something or have a complex feature to implement, why not ask AI to help you ask the right questions? This can unlock new perspectives on the problem, especially when you're feeling overwhelmed.

Think of it as a rubber duck on steroids—one that can act on suggestions.

Enough for now

Okay, I was almost going to discuss my thoughts on the future of AI. And I should do that, but not now.

Who knows which posts will come next?
